We have recently received a reasonable number of emails regarding Blast Zone! Tournament’s controller support. So, We put together this FAQ.

Blast Zone! Tournament Controls FAQ

1. How many people can play Blast Zone! Tournament on a single Windows PC?

A maximum of 8 people can play on a single machine.

2. How many players can use the keyboard as their controller?

Up to 2 players can use the keyboard as their controller.

3. Are keyboard controls remappable?

Yes, both players using the keyboard can remap their controls.

4. What about gamepads?

We support up to 8 players using gamepads per machine. If two people decide to use the keyboard, then only 6 gamepads are needed to have a total of 8 players.

5. Parties and multiplayer maps can have up to 32 players?

Yes. Additional players can be set to AIs and individually handicapped. Or, you can create an online party and have a mixture of local people on the host’s machine, remote players, and AIs.

6. Can guests from another machine join my hosted party?

Yes. For example, you can have a private 32 player online Battle Royale match using just 4 machines, each with 8 real players.

7. What gamepads does Blast Zone! Tournament support?

We support most USB and Bluetooth gamepads. Many off-brand gamepads simply emulate the Xbox 360 controller and thus work correctly. Here is the current list of supported gamepads:

8. What gamepads aren’t supported?

Sony DualShock 3 (Bluetooth)
Google Nexus Player Gamepad
Nvidia Shield Controller (2015 Model)
Serial port or game port controllers
Controllers not supported by Raw Input, Direct Input, or XInput in Windows
Controllers not supported by Unity
Controllers that require a special SDK (3D Connexion mouse, etc.)

9. What about controllers that map to the keyboard?

Controllers such as the X-Arcade Tankstick that map to keyboard keys are supported only through keyboard maps at this time. Go to the Settings page and map the controls directly as Keyboard 1’s or Keyboard 2’s controls.
