Season 1 leaderboards for Blast Zone! Tournament will be based on “Season Score”. Season Score is average of the following factors:

  • Challenge Mode stars earned
  • Matched 32-player Battle Royale ELO
  • Matched 4v4 Team Knockout ELO
  • Matched 8-player FFA Wildcard ELO

BZT also has a robust set of social features from friends lists to partying, news, mail, and more to help foster a healthy community and lay the foundations for esports tournaments.

Blast Zone! Tournament is first coming to Steam Early Access on Windows. Then BZT will be released on the PS4, Xbox One, and Switch. And, we are interested in exploring releasing BZT on Mac and Linux.

We have designed a full team/guild system. The system is currently slated to be patched in after the initial launch.

After Balanced Worlds was acquired by Kabam in December 2012, the Bomb Buddies team began working on Blast Zone. During Blast Zone’s 14 months of development with a 20 person team, we made countless improvements to the game including dramatically improving the network scaling of our servers, creating a massive solo story mode, and adding even more ways to customize characters. Blast Zone was released on iOS, received Apple’s Editors’ Choice across Asia, and had over 850,000 players in its first week online.

Blast Zone! Tournament is the 3rd game in this series; and, it is true to the gameplay we all loved in Bomb Buddies and then expanded upon in Blast Zone. Please register in the Victory Lap Games Forums or like the Bomb Buddies Facebook Page to get the latest updates on BZT’s development progress.

We want to reward Bomb Buddies players for their continued dedication over these years. As BZT is a new game, we cannot directly restore Bomb Buddies accounts. Yet depending on the user data we can retrieve, our goal is to give gifts to Bomb Buddies players that come play BZT. After Steam Early Access is launched and doing well, we will have more detailed information on the gifts that Bomb Buddies players will receive. We especially want to thank our hardcore players that have kept the Bomb Buddies Facebook page alive for these 4 years. Your dedication helped us make the decision to open Victory Lap Games and to create BZT – thank you.

Bomb Buddies started to become Blast Zone in December 2012. A 20 person team worked 14 months on Blast Zone (Bomb Buddies 2). BZT’s development started from the final build of Blast Zone’s C++ code and is where the conversion to C# and Unity began. Pragmatically, we simply don’t have the original Bomb Buddies code anymore – nobody does. Fortunately, Blast Zone improved the gameplay in many ways. And when BZT’s Steam Early Access begins, we will utilize players’ feedback to ensure that BZT is the best game in the series. If you loved Bomb Buddies or Blast Zone, please become an Early Access player and give us feedback! As soon as we are ready to start Early Access, we’ll reach out on both the Bomb Buddies Facebook Page and on the Victory Lap Games Forums.

Bomb Buddies and Blast Zone were loved by a lot of players. Gamers, including us, want a great Bomberman-inspired game and it is our goal satisfy that desire.

BZT is not a free-to-play game. BZT will be for sale on Steam and the PS4, Xbox One, and Switch stores. BZT will not have pay-to-win features. To make competitions and tournaments fair for all BZT players, BZT relies on skill-based competition.

BZT provides a wide array of control options:
